With both joy and sadness, we share that Clyde A. Sheehan, M.D. will be retiring on September 30, 2025.
For decades, Dr. Sheehan has dedicated his life to caring for the people of Tupelo and surrounding communities. His compassion, wisdom, and steady presence have touched the lives of so many patients and families.

His compassion, wisdom, and steady presence have touched the lives of so many patients and families. To us at Psychiatry Associates of Tupelo, he has been not only a physician, but a mentor, leader, and friend.
While we will miss seeing Dr. Sheehan in the office every day, we are so thankful for the legacy of care he leaves behind.

• Please contact us at 662-844-4364 to schedule a transfer-of-care appointment with one of our other providers if you have not already done so.
• If you already have an appointment scheduled with Dr. Sheehan after September 30th, our staff will be reaching out to help you adjust your schedule.

Sheehan Counseling Center, P.A., founded by Dr. Clyde Sheehan, has been dedicated to serving the psychiatric and counseling needs of North Mississippi residents since 1993. Our professional clinical staff brings over 50 years of combined experience in mental health services. On April 25, 2025, we formally changed our name to Psychiatry Associates of Tupelo to better represent the growth of our practice.
We understand that life's challenges can feel overwhelming, leading to frustration and confusion. Often, underlying issues like anxiety and depression can exacerbate these feelings. Additionally, childhood disorders and behavioral problems may leave parents feeling anxious and exhausted. MEET THE TEAM
Summer Jennings, MSN, PMHNP-BC Child, Adolescent, & Adult Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
With a strong foundation in psychiatric nursing and a passion for mental health, Summer brings years of experience treating children, adolescents, and adults. Her ability to diagnose, treat, and prescribe across age groups allows her to provide personalized, compassionate care for individuals and families alike.
Summer began her nursing journey at Northeast MS Community College, earning her Associate Degree in 2012. After several years as a psychiatric nurse, she pursued her Baccalaureate in Nursing at Mississippi University for Women, then earned her master's degree from Walden University - graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
As a lifelong resident of North Mississippi, Summer is deeply committed to serving her community. She believes in holistic approach to care, treating the whole person - not just the symptoms. Her goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where every patient feels seen and supported.

Breanna Evans, MSN, PMHNP-BC Child, Adolescent, Adult & Geriatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
With a strong foundation in psychiatric nursing and a passion for mental health, Breanna brings extensive experience across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. She is ANCC board-certified and skilled in diagnosing, treating, and prescribing medications for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Her comprehensive background allows her to provide personalized, compassionate care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Breanna completed her master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing at Walden University, graduating summa cum laude. Her commitment to academic excellence and clinical growth reflects her dedication to providing high-quality mental health care to individuals and families.
A lifelong advocate for reducing stigma, Breanna strives to empower her patients through education, support, and a safe, judgment-free environment. Her goal is to help every patient feel understood, validated, and encouraged throughout their mental health journey.
Breanna will be available on Fridays.
